Happy fourth ?? of ?? July to you all!!! This for sure is my favorite summer holiday!! It’s fun, festive and who doesn’t love the food and fireworks on a good holiday!
These biscuits are a sure crowd pleaser and they are so simple and easy to make for everyone. And there’s not a whole lot of work involved. They can even be made a day ahead!x
1-1/2 cups flour
2/3 cups cake flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 cup cold butter – cut into small cubes
1 cup buttermilk
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients by using your hands. Add the buttermilk and stir together. The dough will look a bit wet. Lightly flour the surface and roll the dough out to 1/4-inch. Try to keep it as clean a rectangle as possible, cut the biscuits into desired shape. Place the biscuits on a sheet pan lined with parchment. They will grow up more than out, so they can be placed fairly close. Bake for about 15 minutes or until they are golden brown on top. Watch closely. Happy Eating!!x ⭐️
